Nollywood movie “Ori Rebirth” has raked in over ₦342 million at the Nigerian box office, securing its spot as the highest-grossing indigenous film to date.

The figure was revealed on Monday by the film’s official distributor, FilmOne Entertainment, in a celebratory post shared via Instagram.

The post also confirmed that the movie has topped the box office for five weekends in a row.

“Our amazing fans! It’s a small win but HUGE before us. Simply put, without you and God, there won’t be this HUGE success,” the distributor said in the post.

Produced by Muyiwa Ademola under his Authentic Muy banner, Ori Rebirth was co-directed by Ademola, Adebayo Tijani, and Tope Adebayo Salami.

The Yoruba-language film dives deep into themes of destiny, sacrifice and spiritual conflict, drawing large crowds with its emotional plot and traditional setting.

The cast includes Toyin Abraham, Bimbo Akintola, Lateef Adedimeji, and Ademola himself.

Speaking with Guardian Life, Ademola explained why he returned to the story.

“Even after 22 years, there hasn’t been a single day that I step out without someone asking me about Ori,” he said.

He added, “Ori Rebirth isn’t just another Yoruba film. It cuts across religion and culture. People from all walks of life connect with it.”
